from fawning to outright bile. CBS News correspondent Lesley Stahl got
the short end of his temper yesterday when she was called a ‘gutless,
lying weasel’ for her last-minute cancellation of an appearance
on his show.

“Mr. Imus was set to grill her about why retired terrorism official
Richard Clarke was handed a 40-minute platform to launch rhetorical
cruise missiles at the Bush administration on ‘60 Minutes’
without CBS disclosing that his book was being published by Simon &
Schuster, owned by CBS’s parent company. CBS representatives say the
failure to disclose the corporate tie-in was an ‘oversight,’
but Mr. Imus was having none of it.
